User guide Smallprof

Everything you need to get started: create your account, connect your child, and understand how the game works.

🚀Getting started

Three steps are all it takes for your child to start playing. The parent creates the account, then the child logs in with their secret code.

1

The parent creates an account

Go to "Sign up" and create your family space in moments. It's free and no credit card is needed.

2

You add your child

During sign-up, you create your first child's profile with their first name and a 4-digit secret code.

3

The child plays

From "Play", your child picks their profile from the list, enters their secret code, and the adventure begins!

Want to try before creating an account? A playable 6-question demo is available with no sign-up, right in your browser. Try the demo →
📝Create your account (sign-up)

Sign-up takes 3 simple steps, from the "Sign up" button.

1

Step 1 — Your family

Enter your family name, a family nickname, your country, your email and a password. This is your secure parent space.

2

Step 2 — Your first child

Provide the child's first name, age, game language and choose a 4-digit secret code they'll use to log in.

3

Step 3 — Your plan

Choose your plan (Free, Premium or Family). Paid plans start with a 30-day free trial, no commitment.

What is the family nickname for? It is added to each child's first name to form their public nickname (e.g. nickname "Cosmos" → MarcCosmos). All siblings share it, and it stays unique across families.
🧒How the child logs in

For children's safety, logging into the game always happens from a signed-in parent account.

1

The parent signs in first

The parent logs into the family area. As long as they're signed in, their children can play without re-entering anything.

2

The child picks their profile

On the "Play" page, the family's list of children is shown. The child simply clicks their profile — no need to type a name.

3

The child enters their secret code

They enter their 4-digit code and the game starts right away. If they pick the wrong profile, a "back" button returns to the list.

Why must the parent be signed in? It guarantees a child can only log into a profile from their own family. Two children from different families can share the same first name with no possible confusion.
🎮Game modes

Six ways to play, so it never gets boring and progress comes from every angle.

🎯Mission

Answer 10 questions to complete your mission. The perfect mode to practise at your own pace.

🧗Climb

Questions get harder with every correct answer. How far can you climb?

🔁Mental Duel

🗺️Exploration

Changed your mind? During a game, the button at the top of the screen returns to the menu at any time to pick another mode. Nothing is lost: progress is saved after every correct answer.
🧮Switch from mental to written calculation

For calculations worth breaking down, children can use a written layout without leaving the game.

When the button appears — Smallprof offers it in Mission and Exploration when the numbers and operation make the support genuinely useful.

How it works — The child enters the result column by column. Carries, borrowing, partial products and division steps are guided for the operation and selected language.

What parents see — The parent dashboard summarises use of this support and areas to strengthen, without showing the child’s detailed answers.

🧠How does our algorithm work?

Smallprof doesn't move at a fixed pace based on the age in the profile: it watches how your child answers — their successes, their hesitations, their thinking time — and tunes the exercises to their own pace, game after game. It constantly aims for the “right difficulty”: enough success to feel capable, just enough challenge to keep growing — the zone education research considers the most conducive to learning. In practice, it does three things a good teacher would: it brings a concept back at the right moment, before it fades; when your child tires or makes several mistakes in a row, it gently eases off so they can finish on a success; and it rewards real progress rather than repeating what's already mastered. No exams, no pressure-inducing timer.

A safety net, whatever the pace: the age entered at sign-up acts as a safety ceiling. We never introduce a concept before the age it's typically taught at school — multiplication, for instance, will never appear before the age it's normally taught, even if the child has played a lot.
Ages 5-7

the focus is on addition and subtraction. Numbers start small and grow gradually with practice. Around age 7, the very first simple multiplications may start to appear.

Ages 8-10

multiplication and division come into play, starting with simple numbers (times tables), while addition and subtraction grow up to three-digit numbers. Toward the end of this range, two-digit multiplications start to appear.

Ages 11-14

all operations are available, including multiplication and division with larger numbers, and long division.

Within each age range, the real pace depends on practice: a child who plays often progresses faster through what's available for their age, never "skipping" a step or facing a concept beyond their school level.

🎂 My child has grown — how do we move up a level? Nothing to do on your end. As soon as your child plays again after their birthday, Smallprof automatically recalculates what's accessible to them — without resetting their progress, points, or rewards, which stay earned. If you notice a concept is taking a while to appear, it's usually a matter of practice rather than age: a few extra games will help more than worry.
🗺️The game's 5 worlds

As your child progresses, they travel through five very different visual worlds: a backdrop, mood, and small animations that change at each major milestone.

Nothing to unlock The change of world is automatic, tied to the level reached — no purchase, no code, just the fun of watching the scenery evolve as they play.
🌱 Forest of Numbers (levels 1-30)

The very first steps, among rays of light, drifting pollen and fireflies in the mist.

🌊 Ocean of Calculations (levels 31-60)

A soothing dive into the depths: bubbles, fish, swaying seaweed and rays of light.

⛰️ Mountain of Multiplications (levels 61-90)

The climb continues under a starry dusk, past snow-capped peaks and distant village lights.

🏛️ Temple of Divisions (levels 91-120)

Ancient secrets of division, among moonlit colonnades and glowing braziers.

🚀 Mathematical Galaxy (level 121 and beyond)

The summit: stars, a ringed planet, a comet and nebulae for math champions.

This change of scenery is purely visual: the difficulty of the exercises is still always driven by the adaptive algorithm described above.

🏆XP, coins and rewards

Every correct answer moves the child forward and unlocks rewards that keep them motivated.

⭐ XP & levels — Experience points add up with each correct answer and level the child up, unlocking new worlds.

🪙 Coins — Earned by playing, they're used to buy collectible cards (5 collections themed after the game worlds, plus long-term mythic cards) and bonuses in the shop. Completing all 8 cards of a world earns a gold chest!

🔥 Streaks — Chaining correct answers builds the streak. The longer it is, the prouder the companion!

🎁 Chests — Chests (bronze, silver, gold) unlock through play and grant bonus coins and XP.

🎭 Avatars — The child chooses their avatar. Some are free, others unlock by earning XP.

🌍The leaderboard

Smallprof offers several leaderboards to position your child and encourage them.

The leaderboards compare players by total XP, weekly progress, best streak, age group, and even by family (combined sibling XP).

Only the public nickname (first name + family nickname) and the country flag are shown. The real first name never appears on its own.

Opt-in participation: the leaderboard is off by default. The parent must enable it in the parent area. You can opt out at any time.
